FAQs

So, who are you and what is Le Calamar?

Le Calamar is a modern French bistro with Texan sensibilities from hospitality partners Richard Hargreave, Claudia Lee and Chef Casey Wall. All of our ingredients come from small Texas farms, and 100% of our seafood comes from the Gulf of Mexico with it primarily being bycatch. We feature a distinctive beverage program highlighting wines & spirits from France, Mexico, and Texas, alongside signature cocktails focused on martinis, manhattans, and mezcal. We are located in Austin’s Bouldin Creek at 1600 S. 1st Street on the corner of S. 1st and Monroe.

Is there parking?

There is a parking garage in our building with the entrance off Monroe. We offer a 2HR validation and feel free to ask any staff and they will happily provide. Please note, we do not own/manage the parking garage, it is a third party called Peak Parking.

Do you have a Happy Hour?

Happy Hour runs from 5-6pm daily, with $10 martini specials, $3 St Elmo Carls, and 25% off Sparkling Wines.

Do YOU TAKE CASH?

Yes, cash payments are warmly welcome. While we accept all major credit cards, guests who choose to pay in cash help us keep more resources within Austin’s independent restaurant community, supporting our team and the local farmers who make our menu possible.

Can I bring my dog?

Absolutely. We have a dog friendly patio out front with ample seating. We love furry friends!

How about dietaries?

Due to the nature of our locally sourced menu and our very small team, we are not able to cater to all dietary needs.
Much of our menu is gluten free-friendly, but non-dairy is more limiting.
If you have any questions regarding dietary needs, please reach out to our team at

info@le-calamar.com and we can address them directly.

Can I make a reservation?

Bookings are encouraged but walk-ins are always welcome. Our bar is always walk-in friendly! For a reservation, please book here.
